Contributions to municipal election campaigns in Ontario may only be made by individuals normally resident in Ontario using their own funds. Contributions from corporations, trade unions, and organizations are not permitted. The maximum contribution to a single candidate is $1,200. Contributions are not tax deductible. Donor information is collected in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 and may be disclosed as required by law.

The Town of Oakville passed By-law 2025-050, which established a contribution rebate program for eligible individuals who live in Oakville and make monetary contributions to council candidates. That means you could get half your donation back making your support for Ward 3 even easier.
