ABOUT ME

As a long-time Ward 3 resident, husband, and dad, the decisions made at Town Hall aren't abstract to me. They shape the streets we walk and the community we're building together.

I care deeply about this community, and I've acted on it. Over the last couple of years I've spoken out publicly against overdevelopment in Oakville including delegating in front of Town Council. Most recently, I led the efforts to stop a waste transfer facility from opening on our border with Mississauga, right in the backyard of Ward 3 residents.

I’m not running for Town Council as a partisan, I’m running as a Ward 3 resident. My focus is on Oakville and on making decisions based on what’s best for our community. Oakville's best decisions are made when residents are at the table, the reasoning is on the record, and leadership stays focused on solutions. That's the kind of councillor I want to be for Ward 3.

IN OUR COMMUNITY

For nearly a decade, I’ve worked as a Board of Director member on the Joshua Creek Residents Association (JCRA), where I've seen first-hand how engaged residents and good-faith dialogue produce better decisions for our neighbourhoods.

I’ve been a dedicated multi-season Oakville Little league baseball coach supporting community youth sports.

I’ve served on multiple boards, including the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Canada Wireless Telecommunications Association, Canada–China Business Council, and the Information Technology Association of Canada among others.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Early in my career, I worked in senior policy and operations roles in the federal government. For more than 25 years, I delivered measurable results for prominent technology companies operating in Canada, including Shaw Communications, BlackBerry, and SOTI. Highlights include securing rapid regulatory approval for $Billions in multiple merger and acquisition transactions; establishing and managing a global R&D tax program achieving over $500M in annual tax savings; preventing the shutdown of Canadian business operations in multiple countries over national security concerns; and negotiating multiple incentive packages to support domestic and international expansion.

That experience has given me a perspective from both sides of the table. I understand how government works, but I’ve spent years representing businesses and working with governments of different political stripes to get things done. 

My education spans politics, public administration, and business: an Honours B.A. in Political Science from the University of Windsor, a Master of Public Administration from KU Leuven in Belgium, and an MBA from Queen's University.
